Our vice president Xi , who is poised to our country's next leader, visit America this week! I searched the information around the internet about his visitation, and on February 14 I found a picutres and a piece of news about him in USAtoady.com. It is a meeting picture about Xi and Obama. Xi was facing to the lens while Obama only can be seen his back. Suppose Obama come to China visit, there will be no pictures taken and published like this. They will both face to the lens. This remind me of the difference between Chinese media and American media on national leader report.
In China, no matter when and where, the most authoritative newspapers and news on programs always give the piority time and place to our political leader. Such as the CCTV-1 's XINWENLIANBO, whose TV rating achieved hundreds of million people. In the 30 minutes time, the list of this news program is fixed. First is our political leader news which takes up 10 to 15 minutes, then it is the political policy news which takes up 10 minutes, international news become the last and only have 5 minutes.
In the newspaper, the first layout also will be the political leaders news. Ironically, the most impressive news that I remember it was on September 11, 2011, when the whole people of the world were shocked by the terrorist attack to the world trade center in New York city, our country's newspaper first layout was published our president news.
The other things I remembered about this difference is last year when Obama sat in the room of the pentagon to conduct with the opreation on arresting Osama bin Laden, as the president, he just sat in the corner of the office room as a coordinator not a commandor. This picture have been taken a heated disscussion on the mainstream websites in China for cotemplating our media report policy and political policy.
The only thing I can do is hope it will become better in the future. I saw the news said Xi has arrived in LA and he will see the Lakers game, hope he will enjoy the game.

Post #, 1 Washburn Campus

This is the first time that I have my own blog, I cannot believe it is an english blog and I need to use english to blog. I've been here for nearly six months, and I've already familiar with the life and environment here. Now I want to introduce you my first home in America--Washburn University.
The first time I heard this university's name I confused it with the University of Washington. I thought that I will be study in the captial of USA. Like other Chinese people, we always heard Los Angeles, New York these metropolitans rather than Topeka and Kansas City, everything here for me is unknown and strange. However, after I arrived here, I found this place is indeed a good place to live and study.
Our campus located in Topeka, the caotial city of Kansas. It is a place where 90% of the view is the blue sky, squirrels are the original resident here. Our campus is not big but it has all the equipments that cover all the use of teaching. We have a couple computer labs where you can use your user name log on to do your assigments or print your document for free. For the music major students, they have a multifunction building including the theatre and piano classrooms, students can practise their skill in several pianorooms for free. And the equipments there are also professional. We also have a big gym that you can do a lot of kinds sports.
In my opinion, Washburn University is not a big school but really provide a good environment for student to study, the small amount of people in the courses is another character that Washburn has, it makes everyone in the classroom can keep in touch with the professor and interact with the professor. By the way, the faculty here are very kind and enthusiastic, they are patient and helpful when you need their help.
Although I have left only a few months here, I will make use of the rest time here and try my best to experience and learn more.
